Here are some results of my tinkerings with the IR battle Systems of Heng Longs. Below are two sound files that represent the IR signals sent from Heng Long and Tamiya compatible IR systems. I know a lot of people tend not to get why it is so difficult to get Heng Longs to Battle with Tamiyas even though they can use both the same IR emitter, the same IR sensor (mushroom) and both use 38kHz as the IR carrier frequency. They differ in the way that they send out pulses of 38kHz IR. Press play on the players below to hear the differences.
You can clearly hear the differences between the two (well at least I hope so). Below you can see the differences as well...
Heng Long IR
Tamiya IR
It is IMPORTANT to note that the spikes in the graphics above represent pulses of IR light modulated at 38kHz.
I've been after this info on the Heng Long IR for ages and didn't realise that I had all the stuff already to analyze the signals till this morning. Boy do I feel stooopid.Statistics: Posted by Phyrephish — Mon Jan 02, 2012 6:44 pm
