Will this RC5HL be compatible with my Planet T5 Advanced 2.4ghz digital radio?

Thanks

Connect your radio to your PC and using eePe

Click BURN - Read Memory From TX

Once done save the file as TeckPriezt.eepe and then post it here (you may have to zip it up first).

Also it really helps to send as much info as you can - like are you using 6 or 8 channel receiver???

Quickly looking at your issue when you setup the template did you FIRST

Make sure that in Radio setup MODE 3 was selected

The when you went to templates did you FIRST
change channel order from RETA (default) to RTEA - first thing I though of give that R (steering) and A (turret right left) are working fine since they are in the same place and you have issues with T and E.

THEN did you CLEAR ALL MIXES - before applying the RC2HL template.

Finally the templates apply everything EXCEPT the reverse settings- You need to manually reverse CH1, CH2 and CH3

Go to LIMITS page all the way to end of line and change - - - to INV by pressing MENU

Good Luck
KG

I have installed the tankER9X (Bastille) firmware on my 9X and setup up as per the great setup vids on YouTube. But getting a strange problem.

The move barrel left and right and tank movement left and right works perfectly, but the move forward and backwards as well as the fire and move barrel up and down functions do not work.

Anyone have any ideas on why this would be happening?

No you do not need to order the lever when you buy the radio. It is installed as part of the upgrade on both the 9X and 9XR.

If you are comfortable with computers then the USB programmer would be worth a look. TankER9X has been upgraded from the Bastille version and the new version is going out on new radios. There has been a bit of activity with ER9X so there is likely to be a few more enhancements between now and the end of the year.

If you want to use the RC5HL functions to switch headlight or Machine Guns or whatever then maybe the relay unit?

If you are wanting to upgrade to 2.4gHz operation make sure that you upgrade to a proper Hobby Grade 2.4 gHz system. Do not be fooled by the offerings by Taigen or Heng Long. They may operate on 2.4 gHz but the Taigen system at least does NOT conform to the usual standards. This means that you will not be able to take advantage of the squillions of products out there designed for the R/C hobby.

The first place to start is with a good radio and in my opinion there is nothing better for tanks than a Turnigy 9X running custom firmware. I am certainly biased here but there is nothing better for the money than a 9X or 9XR running tankER9X.

What is so good about tankER9X:
-Allows you to assign the wide variety of switches, pots, & sticks to anything you desire allowing for great control options for your tank
-Has a number of templates to allow for easy setup of tank control boards
- the latest release of tankER9X replaces all the confusing plane terms with tanks ones for ease of use

RUD (Rudder) is STR (Steering) in tankER9X
THR (Throttle) is MTR (Motors) in tankER9X (some versions may have this as ACC for acceleration)
ELE (Elevator) is GUN (Gun control) in tankER9X
AIL (Aileron) is TUR (Turret control) in tankER9X

- adding to all of this you get PC connectivity via a separate USB programmer.

Here is a little video showing how quick and easy the conversion can be using the 9X and our RC5HL control board

Tank ready 9X or 9XR radios can be bought from the RCTA webshop

http://rctanksaustralia.com/shop/index. ... ucts_id=25

http://rctanksaustralia.com/shop/index. ... cts_id=223

Once you have a good radio you can then choose form a variety of tank control boards. Our RC5HL is probably the cheapest option as it makes use of your existing RX18. However there are a wide variety of options out there depending on the depth of your wallet and skills as a modeller.

Cheers
Kevin G

If wanting help for setups please provide all the details of your setup. Most importantly we need to know exactly what model of receiver especially in the case of OrangeRX. Pics are always a quick and easy means of providing info (picture paints 1000 words)

For example we need to know

What model Orange receiver?
Do you have any other Orange receivers bound to the Turnigy
What model Turnigy Radio 9X or 9XR?
What firmware are you running factory firmware or tankER9X (ER9X)?
What OrangeRX module is installed in your 9X?

Here at RCTA we do all of our testing using the Turnigy 9XR, OrangeRX module and as many of the OrangeRX receivers we can get our hands on. All of the OrangeX receivers work fine.

BUT VERY IMORTANTLY we have found that you can not mix and match receiver models without issues. This is clearly a Turnigy OrangeRX thing. Maybe we have something wrong here but we have consistently found that you can not have a R610 receiver in/for Model One and a different model like a R910 for Model 2. All your models must use the same receiver all R610s or all R910s.

Cheers
Kevin G
