A bug has been found in the code running on the very latest series of REMORA. These are the boards with the connection for a LiPo and a piezo buzzer on the back for warnings. The bug stops REMORA from getting the correct change of channel from the MANTA.

If you want to change channels on Remora you can either post REMORA back to RCTA for a free update or do the update yourself if you have a RCTA program cable.

DIY is fairly simple - download this utility first

Reassign COMNo Utility.rar

Extract the file to a handy location and plug in your RCTA programming cable

Start the utility which will tell you what Com Port the cable is on. If it is on either 5 or 9 great. Note the number and shut the utility down. If not on 5 or 9 use the utility to change to either Com 5 or Com 9. Shut down utility.

Depending on what Com port download:
COM5
RemoraUpdateC5.zip
COM9
RemoraUpdateC9.zip

Unzip the file. Make sure that your cable is connected and on the correct Com Port. Connect to REMORA with the white cable to the pad marked 'S'. Power REMORA using either the 5V+ wire or via a powered up MAKO. Run the RemoraUpdate program and that should be it.

1. MAKO: Our flagship IR battle product - MAKO is responsible for collecting the battle data and passing it onto the next link in the chain.

2. REMORA: Remora is the unit responsible for transmitting the battle data (TX). It operates in the 433 MHz band so as not to interfere with your 2.4gHz radio operations. Latest versions of REMORA include a LiPo sensor port which enables Remora to also transmit individual and total LiPo cell voltages.

3. MANTA: The final link in the chain is the MANTA Diagnostic LCD (RX). Manta has an onboard wireless receiver that gathers the data transmitted by Remora and displays in on a 16x2 LCD.

To allow for multiple users the REMORA system can be set to operate any 'pseudo' channel for 01 to 99. This post is to show the basic connections and usage of MANTA with special reference on how to change the channel setting from the default of 50 on both the MANTA (RX) and the REMORA (TX)
