Depends on if you have a 9X and what you want to do with Channel 8. You can change the existing mix on CH8 from operating an elevation servo to operating a recoil servo.
In such a case then NO you wouldn't need a Sirvoe board.
BTW the recoil servo mix has always been provided in tankER9X and is found on CH7 of a RC5HL template - Just copy
The Asp template/model settings eepe file will have a recoil servo setup on CH11 all you would have to do is swap CH11 with CH8 if you don't need the elevation servo.
