P4Man - yep, gonna look real cool.
NB: I unpacked everything, couldn't find the lifting hook for KT that Mike said he was going to ship.

Just spent a couple of hours flicking through "The Modeller's Guide to the Tiger Tank" looking at the different variant's.

RC Armory supplied three Turret Ring Guard components and it seems a shame to not use them, so my build will be based on the June 1944 release which amongst other features introduced the Turret Ring Guard.

The level of detail included in he Modeller's Guide to the Tiger Tank is fantastic - it will really help me produce a vehicle accurate to this variant (or as accurate as I can build it).

Straight up I have found out that the cleaning rods I made a while ago are a bit too long - they will all have to be reduced to the correct length ::)

Now the fun starts working out what model Tiger 1 I want to emulate, where to mount the accessories, holding lugs, etc - will have to hand make these, measure and drill/glue onto hull :bamboozeld: oh what fun :loveit: :loveit:

The inner road wheels are simply held together by a nylon bushing which fits with a bit of persuasion with a ball pane hammer

Inner road wheels completed

Outer road wheel inner spacer - needed a bit of dremelling to smooth up the burs

Same deal, the nylon bush holds the inner spacer to the road wheel

Use the axle to line up the two wheels and glue the two spacers together

All road wheels completed

The road wheels are a real basic design, no ball bearings, etc - I will have to wait and see how they perform over time.

NB: The Tarzan's Grip glue has really bonded the suspension arms assembly together quite well. Hopefully I get the same strength bond with the outer road wheels.

Nothing ground breaking done today on the tiger as we went to see Rowan Atkinson's "Johny English Reborn" (Hint: If you watch it wait until the end credits are finished - there is a really clever skit at the end)

Anywho, might try assembling the road wheels next, add some shrapnel damage as well

Talking with Monotheist, best way to secure the track pins is to epoxy the gnarled end of the pin prior to fully inserting - if I don't do this the pins will definitely work loose.. Have to remember to leave a break pin in each track for easy removal.....

Mike (RC Armory) has finished his part of the build - my lovely Tiger 1 will ship in the next couple of days - oh drooooooollll

Also, my SFX6 sound module from Sound Solutions of Canada has been replaced by the supplier - it had a stuck relay which restricted my programming requirements - "big thumbs up" to Sound Solutions of Canada - very prompt service - many thanks David

I have also ordered my "Man Cave" which should be operational by end of next month (look up beer fridge, etc)
