Ok many of you may wonder why there is no direct connection of a servo to the Asp board for a recoil servo and instead one has to connect a sirvoe board there instead. There are at least 3 reasons for this.

1. If you are wanting just a simple recoil action then tankER9X can do the job. If you don't know the setting for the mix then you can find them on CH7 of the RC5HL template. Transfer the mix to CH8 and you get servo recoil at no extra cost just a bit of button pushing. You don't need the sirvoe board at all

2. The recoil servo port on Asp can be freed up and should really be named I/O Port 1 as both the sirvoe board or a diagnostic LCD can be attached to this port.

and

3. With such a wide variety of tanks and needs out there a separate controller for recoil is thought to be best overall solution. SO if you need a complex recoil solution then sirvoe can plug right in to fill your needs.

A good example of this is for a Flakpanzer. The video below shows the Flak Recoil mod for the sirvoe board whereby 2 servos are used to simulate a more realistic action.

Cheers
