I tested Scott's Planet. The problem is that the Planet outputs Throttle first, then Rudder (TREA). The RC5HL likes to see the more Tamiya like - Rudder then Throttle (RTEA). I don't think changing any settings inside the Planet would of worked either.
Unfortunately it would of been a job for Andrew the RC5HL programmer to have a look at as there is something going on with CH1 and CH2. I suspect some sort of throttle failsafe.
SO for now it is safe to say that the Planet radios and the RCXHL family do not like to play ball together.
