That makes sense as when I got it to work on the Planet T7 the steering and throttle controls where crossed. I know at the time I contacted tech department for the UK distributor of the Planet and asked if possible to switch the two channels using the dip switches in the radio, but their had no clue.
I think there is a throttle fail safe (on the T7 it can be programmed either full throttle of no throttle). And we've found some of the R6M receivers act differently at loss of signal.

I tested Scott's Planet. The problem is that the Planet outputs Throttle first, then Rudder (TREA). The RC5HL likes to see the more Tamiya like - Rudder then Throttle (RTEA). I don't think changing any settings inside the Planet would of worked either.
Unfortunately it would of been a job for Andrew the RC5HL programmer to have a look at as there is something going on with CH1 and CH2. I suspect some sort of throttle failsafe.
SO for now it is safe to say that the Planet radios and the RCXHL family do not like to play ball together.
