Once you get that done and are setup have a look at replacing some of the 2 position switches with 3-position ones. Like anything it may appear daunting at first but quite easy. There is a video on the forum and a link to an eBay supplier of the right size/type of switches.

Also remember that if you have any old plain 9Xs lying around the new 9Xtreme board from SmartieParts will update these radios to the Pro if not better. PLUS there is an internal connection that will allow for the telemetry functions of your new X-series receivers to be displayed direct on your radio.

I will look into adding 2 position switches, for now though I plan to use this radio for my construction equipment (Excavator, tipper, dozer, truck) so I think I’m sorted with the switches but do doubt will find a use where I need to add.

Interesting to know about the smartieparts board, I wasn’t even aware of this and have a TH9X and 9X untouched.

Back on the XJT kit, I notice FrSky do sensors like LiPo battery monitoring would this display on the 9xr pro display? I presumed it would but with your comment above I’m now in doubt.

For telemetry get the FRSky dashboard. Although it is easy to have the details on the radio I find it better to have a separate screen. I place a ball mount from an action cam onto the Pro handle and then use a FRSky mount for the Dashboard.

All my radios have 3 screens, the radio screen for radio details, FrSky dash board for telemetry and a video monitor for FPV. Sometimes 4 screens if using a MANTA but often I'll replace the dashboard with the MANTA.

Asp, TankER9X, the 9X and FrSky all integrate with each other.
