I’m sure this has been discussed before but can’t remember where. Would it be possible to put a read switch on the bottom of a tank to signal the MAKO board, then when a tank drives over a magnet it sends signal to the MAKO board to cause Light = 2 hits Medium =3 hits Heavy =5 or 6 hits Idea been if a tank is undamaged it will be severely damaged but knocked out, or if already damaged chances are will be taken out. Just think it be cool to have a live minefield on a battle ground. Ian. |

Hi Ian No - well nobody to my knwledge has had any real sucess with that method. Options do exist but most involve modification of the tank, which a lot of people do shy away from. One of my concepts is a small board with a Light Dependant Resistor (LDR) and an IR emitter in a case and put into the ground. You would need a IR sensor in the bottom of the tank. When tank drives over LDR the IR emitter fires. This would mean all that is required is a $2 part and a bit of wiring to get any tank able to be damaged by the IR mine. Also the MAKO has reached both the limit of the number of input pins and code stuffed onto the chip. So it would not be possible to add a reed switch input. The equivalent MAKO board for the Taipan however is free from all the Heng Long baggage and could do the reed switch thing if it worked well enough Cheers KG |

Not to worry. I'll just put some small explosives in the minefield might not go down well but look realistic Ian. |
