The Heng Long RX18 is a picky little beast which requires things in the right order otherwise it just won't play ball. One of those things is channel information which needs to be sent in the correct order. With most 4 to 6 channel receivers things are sent in logical order 1 then 2 then 3 then 4... BUT when it comes to 6 channels and above numerical order goes out the window. For example the Turnigy 8 Channel RX sends 1 then 3 then 2 then 4, the Spektrum/OrangeRXs send something different again. So that the RCxHL knows what to expect and thus what sub program to use we have to let the unit know what type of receiver is connected. This is done using the receiver jumpers. To date we have only looked at the Turnigy 8 channel receiver and the Spektrum/OrangeRX receivers. Other types of 8 channel receiver may work with the RCxHL but we have not got them to test. Almost all 6 channel receivers will work fine with the RCxHL. The receiver jumper settings for BOTH the RC2HL and RC5HL are as shown below...
