Hey Graham
Go to the templates menu and load the Tamiya Template. Then go to the MIXER MENU (4/9) and setup as follows
CH1 100% RUD CH2 100% THR CH3 100% ELE CH4 100% AIL
Then go to the next page LIMITS (5/9) and set:
CH2 ...INV CH3 ...INV CH4 ...INV
These inverse setting may be different for you but try these first.
If the tank turns on and the motors go it's actually good thing - means things are working you just need to connect the channels correctly.
Yes I have some JST plugs for the TX battery
Cheers Kevin G

Well Boys and Girls, why can't things be simple?????
There appears to be two versions of the HK-T6A receiver. One that works with the RC2HL and one that doesn't. The one that does works beautifully with the RC2HL and I have been hugely impressed with its performance. I seriously can't believe that that it is a RX18 in the tank and not a much more expensive control unit.
So in my eagerness to get another RX18-RC2HL tank into operation I grabbed my second HK-T6A receiver installed it all as it should be but nothing happened. Surely there arent different versions of the receiver out there???? But alas there are....
You can't tell from the outside. You need to open up the case and look at the printing on the PCB. The two versions are shown below:
hk-t6a_pcbs.jpg
The PCB with 'ZLH' written on the last line is the version that I have working beautifully with the RC2HL and Turnigy 9X (front pcb). The one without doesn't seem to want to play ball (back pcb).
Apparently the version without the ZLH (back pcb) has a sum of all the channel signals output on the Battery port. Easy to check - stick some power into a normal channel and plug a servo into the battery port if the servo goes silly you have the summing receiver and it may not like the RC2HL.
From what I gather by the forum posts the summing receivers are the older board but who knows with Hobby King. I have some receivers arriving this week so I can update then.
Cheers Kevin G

Update: 17-APR-12
The HK T6A radios arrived today and I'm very happy to note that ALL the receivers are the 'ZLH' revisions. Plugged one into the RC2HL and it worked perfectly right away.
The new receivers have two stickers on either side. On one side there is a sliver sticker with what appears to be a serial number and on the other side a c-tick certification.
These NEW receivers work perfectly with the RC2HL.
Cheers Kevin G

Hi Kevin, What TX are you using "9X"? Are the new RX "HK:TR6A V2"? The 1 I received is marked "ZLH", I wonder if that refers to the "C" Tick? Cheers Graham Fitted the new RX with 9X, working well just need a bit of tuning I would say. Well done Kevin.

Hi Graham
Yes I am using the 9X. The HK-T6A needs a bit of editing for it to work perfectly. I'm also out of resin at the moment so I have not made up some self-centring levers for this radio yet. I already have made the mould. The levers are so darn close to the 9X but just different enough not to work properly.
Yes a bit of editing on the 9X also makes the RC2HL a beauty.
I don't know what the 'ZLH' actually stands for but it has nothing to do with the C Tick which is simply a certification approval for the Australian Market.
The difference between the ZLH boards and the earlier boards is that there is a sum of the channel signals on the battery port on the earlier (non-working) boards. There are people out there who are after these boards for this function.
Drop the HK-T6A radio off and I'll edit it for proper operation with the RC2HL. Machine gun is on right switch and Pothead on Left pot (I think) Unfortunately I cannot get the cannon assigned to the other switch. So you just have to use the stick.
Cheers Kevin G

Hi Graham
Don't know. But they are boody good aren't they?
I've got the PotHead sorted now as well. So I'll have one in the post for you soon.
What you you like to control on Channel 5? Lights, smoke unit,....??? If you have a selection let me know as I'll get to work on making it.
Cheers Kevin G

Hi Kevin, Don't post the pothead, I may have time to drop the HK TX tomorrow, I am going to move the RC2HL/9X including pothead into the King Tiger I bought off Mark. This also has a MAKO fitted giving me a fully operational KT. I tested the RC2HL in a Taigen Panzer but I have to fit battle to as it has none and when the RC2HL's arrive I will use it with the HK TX. You are right, fitting the RC2HL to the Panzer, the difference was like chalk and cheese. Cheers Graham

Hi John
The RC2HL can be bought from the RC Tanks Australia Store
The chips for the boards are programmed by the original designer of the board himself over in Germany. A shipment of boards was sent late last week. They should arrive within 2 weeks as shipping form Germany appears to be taking an extrodinary long time.
Within the week I shall make the boards available for order on the Shop site. Please check back by mid-next week.
Cheers Kevin Grannum
