Ok ASP has arrived so this will be the last post here on ASP as I will create a new separate ASP forum topic. Yes - mass production of the ASP board has begun, ASP receiver cables are on order, the sound modules are being made. The major time issue is now only the availability of components. Here is a video of ASP operating in Airsoft mode. At the end of the video the elevation motor control shows some glitching - I later found that this was simply bad soldering on my part. Asp has lots of small components which are a real challenge to hand solder. Production units will be machine soldered. Cheers KG |

Hi there Kev, It's been a long time. So after a lot of updates and videos, what happened to Taipan? I've been waiting for Taipan's release but it seems that there will be no Taipan but ASP? |

Yes I has been a long time. The simple fact of the matter is Taipan is too expensive for me to produce at present. Asp is a version of Taipan with a few less features and without the more expensive sound card. The software is pretty much identical to Taipan though. Asp has 85-90% of Taipan features The Asp system has 3 PCBs, the main board, sound board and battle unit. So far the sound boards and battle units are here ready to go as well as all of the connecting leads. I am still waiting on the main PCBs which are currently 'in production'. I have not got an update on progress from the manufacturer but they have been making the boards for at least 2 weeks so I expect news any day soon. Sales of this first run of Asp boards will determine how things proceed. I think Asp is at a better price point to break into the market than Taipan will be. Cheers KG |
