Ok I always thought the hammerhead unit was a IR reciever And the IR emitter in the tank mantlet was the sender So if I'm now understanding this The hammerhead is a sender and a reciever So in the 360 turret mod videos I do not need to send up the wires for the mantlet emitter because that is taken care of via the 5 pin hammerhead connection Or am I still struggling mentally Thanks in advance Vince |

See here for a run down on the pin outs http://rctanksaustralia.com/guides/inde ... le=Piranha I fear your mental struggle stems from coming via a Heng Long background. Piranhas 5 way cable carries the IR input, Signal LED wires and 5V supply ONLY. The IR emitter is on a separate 2 way cable. (5+2) Although you have an emitter on the top of Piranha - users may not want it there. So you can remove it and place into the mantlet. That is the reason for the separation of the IR emitter cable. So yes you DO have to send up the IR wires because they are NOT on the 5 way cable. Again refer to the original 360° post. This video shows one way to go about setting up Asp for a 360 degree rotating turret. A 12 way slip ring is used with the following designations: 1. V0 2. V+ (5 volts) 3. Recoil servo signal 4. Elevation servo signal 5. Elevation Motor A (JST-XH) 6. Elevation Motor B (JST-XH) 7. IR- (JST-PH) 8. IR+ (JST-PH) 9. Flash/LED signal (JST-XH) 10. MG2 (JST-PH) 11. Indicator LED - (JST-PH) 12. IR signal (JST-PH) 2 way cable 5 way - reduced itself to 2 because you take the 5V+ and GND elsewhere |
