Just a heads up to say HammerHead 3 units are now available and there has been some important changes. First up the cabling & electrical layout for H3 are of the Tamiya type. This means that that 5 pin plug now carries the 3 wires for the IR receiver and the 2 wires for the indicator LEDs. The IR emitter has its own separate plug. The old Heng Long/Taigen/Hammerhead arrangement has the IR receiver and IR emitter combined on the 5 pin plug. The other change is that the indicator LEDs are now turned on with a low signal as is the case with the Tamiya system.
This means that HammerHead is now completely compatible with the Tamiya pin out arrangement.
While that tech stuff is all well and good but a tad boring, Spudster the magnificent has been cranking out 3D models of casings for Hammerhead. The ultimate aim is to have Hammerhead fit in with the design and look of the tank. For example Spud has a design to remodel the optic tower of a Leo so that Hammerhead can fit inside. A sneak peek of his design is below.
Cheers KG

Since the Leopard is out of the bag, I can now reveal a little more, the above rendering was based on a reverse engineering of the original HL model (more or less), however I have since discovered how much detail this model was actually missing and so.....
I have chosen however to make a few of the details a tad over scaled, just like the HL tool makers did originally as this allows them to stand out better.
