The IR functions of Asp are probably the most comprehensive of any IR tank battle unit. With 16 modes, the ability to set your magazine capacity, repair ability, choice of "shell types" and friend or foe recognition setting up your IR system isn't possible with simple jumper selection.

To date the most effective way to allow users to program the IR system has been with the use of a Sony TV remote. In many cases a single button press is all that is required to make a change. Simple and cost effective the TV remote does have it's drawbacks and sales of the remote have not been near those of MAKO or Asp. I often wonder how users are accessing all that is available with RCTA IR battle units.

To that end a new programming system is being introduced to all upcoming RCTA boards whereby your radio can be used to program units. In conjunction with voice commands and LCD messages it is hoped that programming your RCTA unit via your radio is as easy and as comprehensive as possible.
