Hey All

After a few requests the May Update release for Asp will include an option to toggle on or off the LED flashes that occur when reload is complete. This can be done in one of 3 ways.

1. The original IR Remote method
During the program period use your trusty Sony TV remote and press the Clock/Timer button. Doing so will toggle on or off the reload flashes and store your preference in EEPROM so that you only need to do this once.

2. The new Radio Edit mode
A section has been added to the Radio Edit mode for the IR battle system. After setting your magazine capacity you will be asked if you wish the reload flashes: yes or no. For yes it is +100% on CH3 (Main gun) for no it is -100% on CH3 (MG fire)

3. The even NEWER micro SD card cofiguration
Presently I am also working on an IR Battle logging system to document all of your IR battle stats. To do this I am employing the use of the OpenLog system. To make more use of the OpenLog board I have added in the option of putting all of your IR battle settings into a configuration file and uploading these settings to MAKO/ASP. The "irsetup" file contains a single line of settings in the following format

[3,3,5,1,110,1,6]

Whereby:
Vehicle type, Unit ID#1, Unit ID#1, Unit ID#1, Magazine, Reload flash, Eq Curve
The example above will give us
Heavy Battle Tank (3)
Unit ID: 351 (3,5,1)
Magazine of 110 rounds (110)
Reload flashes off (1)
Bass Eq curve (6)

Remember all of these methods employ the core concept of Asp in allowing the changing of settings without having to physically access switches on the board itself.

Hopefully some video will follow next.

Cheers
KG

Great news, and really looking forward to put my hands in one board. What is the bass EQ Curve?

Im very happy to see that we can to everything without carriying a tv remote out there. Its also good we only need to program it once.

Just asking and dont want to annoy  Apart of being able to switch off the reload light, I find usefull to deactivate the toylike blinkling lights at startup, and being able to configure to start the asp with the smoke generator off as default, if it were possible would be great, but of course not a must.

Im using the custom silent smoke generator that I posted here in the forum, and a couple of times I started the motor and run in the park, forgotting that I had it on, so It ended with it on flames (Its quite funny to figure out if the smoke generaton is burning or not, lol)

Hey Rad
The start-up leds are essential for allowing users to set the battle parameters and to know that the battle unit is on and working and that the MAKO program is functioning and there is communication with the Asp mainboard. Imagine turning tank on and going into an IR battle and finding you won because your IR system wasn't even plugged in or worse you are set to bergepanzer or flakpanzer. Remember you may have also turned off your reload flashes as well. So you will end up having no notification at all that your battle unit is working at all.

If you don't want to see the LEDs on the battlefield you can do two things

1. Turn the tank on in the car, on the bench, before putting on the ground/battlefield.
or
2. Do your own mod - you could put in a simple switch or connect all your LEDs (anodes/the 5v supply) to a relay which you can turn on/off using the Aux light as an LED master switch.

As for turning the smoke generator off at startup - have you read the Asp Guides page??

http://rctanksaustralia.com/guides/inde ... _Operation

If you have a look at the CH5 startup options you can see that both startup 3 (-50%) and startup 4 (-100%) will start your tank with the smoke unit off. So that request is already available :)

I'm awaiting my first prototype of a "smart smoke controller" board which will have a temperature sensor and be able to cut the supply to the heater when it senses that the unit has been on with no input or has gotten too hot.

Cheers
KG
