You should read the post again. I said it is the same IF you get a FTDI breakout. Because I have to make things as simple as possible so that even the most non technical people can use the products - the Asp programmer is set up for RCTA boards. It ONLY has the RX, V0 and TX outputs it will not have the 4th line for the RC5HL and comes preset with the lines inverted. It would confuse people having the extra FTDI outs.

I do not recommend trying to add the extra wire to the FTDI chip. If you wish to update the RC5HL you should get an FTDI Breakout. When done you can always invert the RX & TX and use as a second RCTA programmer.

PS there is not much point updating the RC5HL IF you bought within the past 2 years you will already have the latest firmware. Andrew's newest update is for airsoft and requires a hardware mod also.

hi kevin just pre ordered 2 asp 2's just wondering if the latest updates for the asp1, I think they were in sept 15 have the new radio editing for the ir battle modes etc.....
Also when will the new updates for the asp1 be available?
