Hi Kamaz
I use a relatively cheap brand of red oxide paint. It is available here at Bunnings (our Home Depot equivalent but then you probably don't have Home Depot either) It is called White Knight Red Oxide Primer and comes in the standard sized spray can.

I´ll just pop up to Austalia and buy a few cans!

But ok, that is red oxide.
It would be nice if you have had said that it vas used as primer to all german tanks, but not on zimmerit.
Zimm had Dunkelgelb (dark yellow) pigment mixed in it before it was put on armour plates, so as primer on your RC tanks to put over it, it would be the best to use that Dunkelgelb RAL 7028.

Hi Kamaz, I don't use the red primer for accuracy. I use it to help show up my milliput weld seams and because I have become a big fan of 'Pre-shading'. I use the red again for contast beause the next coat is white. I then spray on XF-1 Tamiya Black Acrylic and then wipe it all off with a rag wet with methylated spirit. Have a look at my Stug III F post. The black stays in the recesses. I then spray a light coat of Dunkelgelb which itself will have a lighter tone on the raised parts (where the black has been wiped away) and darker in the recesses where the black paint remains.

This is an outstanding build report! I appreciate it especially as I am now starting my own.

It is with much embarrassment that I have to report that I still have not finished this build.

I really must get back to it.

On a side note - I have been informed that Profiline are no longer in business. They have sold their molds to Asiatam. It is expected that these great kits will still be available in the future from Asiatam.
