Hello, I am new to this hobby and world and I just have a couple of questions about the mako. I recently received my 2 Mako 2014 boards and attempted to install one in my HL panther. I just wondering what I do with the +2 pin connector that accompany's the 5 pin connector from the battle unit? Do I leave it or disconnect it from the RX-18 board? My next question is about the indicator LED or the LED that lights up when in programming mode, I want to use the standard HL mushroom so I was just wondering can I aquire a typical LED from an electronics store that's the right size and what not and plug it in to the mako board where indicated or do I need to purchase a hammerhead? My last question; Can a tank with the mako installed still fight with a Stock HL tank that has no mako installed? |

If your tank and RX-18 are new you will probably have to connect the 2 pin connector to the RX-18. This 2 way wire will be connected to the microswitch that triggers the fire sequence. Without it connected to the RX18 the tank may not fire. Yes you can use a regular LED for the indicator LED. HOWEVER, the supply is 5V+ so you MUST add a resistor. There is no onboard resistor as you can choose how many LEDS you want to use. 1 x LED - 330R 2 x LED - 220R 4 x LED - 100R Finally, if you have a MAKO installed you can battle with anything - simples Cheers Kevin G |

Thank you for the reply, It really cleared things up for me and now I feel more comfortable installing it without the dreaded fear of it making my tank explode or something |
