Posted October 26th: Track assembly - got to start somewhere Talking with Monotheist, best way to secure the track pins is to epoxy the gnarled end of the pin prior to fully inserting - if I don't do this the pins will definitely work loose.. Have to remember to leave a break pin in each track for easy removal..... |

suspension arms assembled Nothing ground breaking done today on the tiger as we went to see Rowan Atkinson's "Johny English Reborn" (Hint: If you watch it wait until the end credits are finished - there is a really clever skit at the end) Anywho, might try assembling the road wheels next, add some shrapnel damage as well |

Nice work, great to see. Wish my camera would take photos that close for the detail. Maybe Santa might be kind to me this year. Not if I keep spending it on model stuff. LOL |

A bit of road wheel assembly today The inner road wheels are simply held together by a nylon bushing which fits with a bit of persuasion with a ball pane hammer Inner road wheels completed Outer road wheel inner spacer - needed a bit of dremelling to smooth up the burs Same deal, the nylon bush holds the inner spacer to the road wheel Use the axle to line up the two wheels and glue the two spacers together All road wheels completed The road wheels are a real basic design, no ball bearings, etc - I will have to wait and see how they perform over time. NB: The Tarzan's Grip glue has really bonded the suspension arms assembly together quite well. Hopefully I get the same strength bond with the outer road wheels. |
