Again great job Karel. A big thanks for posting these valuable pics.
This is what a Panther looks like TODAY in 2012. Note the amount of weathering after OVER half a CENTURY sitting outside. Why then is it so popular to weather tanks barely 6 months out of the facory to look like they have been left outside for 50 years?
I'm guilty of doing it too.
Just more evidence for the age old saying...'Less is more'
Cheers

that's why I didn't weathered my to heavy. Dirty yes, rust where rust comes fast yes. My Panther had a live from factory to destroyed of only 3 months, so I called that a new tank, even in battle... Concerning the paint on the Panther in Houffalize, it isn't the original anymore. It's simply the result of giving it no attention.
It may look a bit strange but the Battle of the Bulge isn't that promoted in our southern part of Belgium (as you may now, whe have a Flemish (Dutch) speaking part in the north and a French speaking part in the south, we have also a very complex structure of political gouvernance and every part is responsible for it's own cultural inheritance) I've been to France Normandie and there it was so well organised, here you must find it out for yourselve a bit, so a good guide book is absolutely necessary
